About Us

Our High Power Rocketry (HPR) field is the Richard Bong State Recreational Area.  It is located just west of Brighton in Kenosha County. Once you get into the park just follow the signs. You will need a Wisconsin State Park permit which are available on-site.

Our Model Rocketry site is located in Johnson Creek, WI.

Model, Hobby, and or Sport rocketry is one of the original STEM activities for youth.​  Our membership is open to all rocketeers, families, or rocket curious with 120+ members from Wisconsin, Illinois, Northern Michigan, and visitors from many states.

We started out in 1996, with small rockets and big dreams. Along the way we found other like-minded enthusiasts and our club was created. WOOSH became NAR section #558 after this first meeting.  Our members are involved in model rockets, scale,  sport, contest events and high power rocketry.  Multiple events are staged each month, including two different launch fields.  We have monthly meetings (currently via Zoom), and an annual holiday party.  All of our events are open to the public.​
